Comic Con San Diego Venue Takeover

by | Jun 19, 2019 | Corporate

As we approach Comic-Con 2019 coming up on July 18-21, we thought it would be fun to take you down memory lane. In 2018, under former ownership, what is now The Sinclair on G Street, experienced a full building wrap makeover during AT&T’s Mr. Mercedes takeover for the 2018 Comic-Con Convention.

Trading the former powder pink exterior for the token black and neon of the Mr. Mercedes brand, Comic-Con attendees enjoyed an off-site activation event at 643 G Street.

Wondering what Comic Con is? Here’s a quick snapshot.

Comic Con is an annual convention in San Diego where comics fans, creators, and experts congregate to attend panels, go to parties, and participate in discussions that are all centered on some aspect of comics.

The SAN DIEGO COMIC CONVENTION (Comic-Con International) is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation organized for charitable purposes and dedicated to creating the general public’s awareness of and appreciation for comics and related popular art forms, including participation in and support of public presentations, conventions, exhibits, museums and other public outreach activities which celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.

Located just blocks from the San Diego Convention Center, The Sinclair on G Street is in the heart of the historic Gaslamp Quarter. With it’s prime location for Comic-Con parties and Comic-Con activations, guests enjoy the charm of historic San Diego while being walkable to the San Diego Convention Center, restaurants on 5th Ave and more.
